Anders Petersen, one of Sweden’s most influential auteur photographers, sensitively blurs the boundaries between madness and normality in his artwork “Mental Hospital”. Petersen, who won international renown with his Hamburg Café Lehmitz series (1967-1970), spent several years photographing patients at psychiatric hospitals just south of Stockholm. His gaze is one of raw tenderness, conveying naked emotions with insightful poetry. Carried by a deep integrity, he takes the viewer to the limits of normality. Only a few days after Thomas H Johnsson and Mikael Stålsäter announced their workshop in march 2011 it was fully booked. Due to the high interest they are planning another workshop in autumn 2011.The location will again be Motala and is scheduled during September / October.

NordicPhotos photographer Linda Forsell is going to hold a lecture at Galleri Kontrast in Stockholm 2nd of march 2011. The event is called "Cause of death - Woman" and deals with an ongoing journalistic project to fight violence against woman in the world by documenting the situation in ten countries around the world. Lina Forsell will show several images during the lecture and talk about her journeys to Pakistan, Egypth and Mexico.
The lecture starts at 19.00 and lasts approx. two hours.

The Swedish Document

"The Swedish Document" is a unique photographic documentation of all 21 counties of Sweden during the year 2009. Each photographer represent their home county during the year long project. The images offer personal reflections of geographical differences and similarities of Sweden. The inspiration for "The Swedish Document" comes from the American project "The 50 States" - where a photographer in every U.S. state described his surroundings.

The Swedish exhibtion can be viewed at Virserums Konsthall, Småland 6th february - until 1st may.

This year the fair will be attended by one of the world's most famous nature photographers, Frans Lanting from California. He is employed photographer at the well-known monthly magazine National Geographic and received many awards for his images. At the fair, his best images will be displayed and you will have the chance to listen to a lecture from him about his travel adventures.

A Homage to Lennart Olson 1925-2010

The Photography Museum in Sundsvall dedicated its first exhibition in the new location the Tiofoto - Photographer Lennart Olson, who passed away at the age of 84 earlier this year and who may probably be regarded as one of Sweden's most original photographers. The exhibtion is called "A Homage to Lennart Olson 1925-2010" and can be seen from 18th september to 21 november.

"How should I behave in order to get a job?" - Kåge Jonsson and Håkan Pieniowski have studied the new phenomenon of job coaching; this has resulted in a film about the new era unemployment. The documentary "JOBBCOACHERNA" will be shown at Swedish Canal 2 the 29th August at 20:00 CET.
