New Photographer - Rakel Osk Sigurdardottir
You might have seen her recent photographs from the volcanic eruption in Iceland that have been published in several international newspapers. Rakel Osk Sigurdardottir is a professional photographer that got her photography degree in 2008. From 2007 she has worked at Birtingur publishing house in Reykjavik. Her images have been published in all major magazines in Iceland. Rakel Osk does also do assignment photography for both private people and companies. She has been acknowledged especially for her images of people and dogs. Rakel has been a dog owner for years and there is no question that she has an eye for that subject and her warmth towards dogs in general really shows in her one of a kind photography. Rakel is convinced that she will never do anything else but work with photography and she says that it’s fun to mention that it was actually her dogs that affected her so much in 2006, when she was studying engineering, that she took a complete U-turn, quit her engineering studies and switched over to photography.
NordicPhotos welcome Rakel and are looking forward to present a lot of excellent images from her in the future.

"More Blues From Landskrona"
The book "More Blues From Landskrona" which is released these days,
is the follow up from "Paper-A Blues From Landskrona" - a book that was nominated for Scanpix Large Photo Price in 2007. "More Blues From Landskrona" is another book - but not entirely the first - not as a brother. Rather like a kusin.
NordicPhotos photographer Thomas H Johnsson took the images!
